I'm Matt. I support four people in a shared house in Worcester. I have been a support worker for Eric, who lives in the house, for just over three years. I am also the health and safety representative for the house.
I started working for Dimensions as a relief support worker. I loved the job so much I decided to make it a career. I wish I had done this years ago. I love the reward you get from helping people achieve things in their own lives and seeing the results of things you do with people.
The training and guidance I have received from Dimensions has been fantastic. I am keen to progress my career through the organisation. I have never worked for anywhere that provided such good training. Recently a lady with autism moved into the house. I have no experience of autism and was concerned I wouldn't be able to provide her with the best support. I raised these concerns with my area manager and she organised for me to attend a course. Now I have the knowledge and confidence to provide her with great support.
